Summary: This volume deals with the traditional mechanisms for conflict resolution in the eight tribes of Northeast India, namely, the Debbarma of Tripura; the Moyon of Manipur; the bodo, Karbi and Dimasa of Assam; and the Zeliang, Pochury & Chakhesang of Nagaland. To come to a decisive conclusion, a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods is used in this research. The finding of the authors indicate similarities in the types and patterns of conflicts and how solutions were found. The authors also explore changes that have emerged in each of their modern tribal societies, which include, the individuals or groups that intervene in a conflict situation, and the manner of delivering justice. The authors feel that each tribal community should adapt itself to modernity without forsaking the essentials of their past customary practices. https://www.amazon.in/Customary-Changing-Trends-Conflict-Resolution/dp/8195302416/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2QW4ZC8WOFWXK&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.qK9zg8Gf6uOQOboq5wAuag.t6xVXR5VPj_F3emT_4Ae2sxiqa94QoaG0HQ5W7f-Uuo&dib_tag=se&keywords=Customary+law+and+changing+trends+in+conflict+resolution%3A+eight+tribes+of+Northeast+India&nsdOptOutParam=true&qid=1719569088&s=books&sprefix=customary+law+and+changing+trends+in+conflict+resolution+eight+tribes+of+northeast+india%2Cstripbooks%2C200&sr=1-1
