N2  - This book contains the papers presented by Christian scholars at a Seminar on Family and Clan in Tribal Societies in North East India. The papers are based on in-depth studies of the situation found in twelve tribal societies. The studies show that the terms ' family' and 'clan' derived from Western scholarship cannot fully represent the complex network of biological, emotional and social relationships that exist in these societies.
