The fib motto, "A bridge between research and practice," is embodied by Structural Concrete. However, research papers constitute the majority of submissions, while papers related to practical projects remain far fewer. The Editorial Board has long sought to increase the number of practical contributions, one such initiative being the introduction of the “Short Project Notes” submission category.

Since the journal has been published entirely online since 2023, we have decided to release a printed edition featuring short project notes and a selection of practical papers published in Structural Concrete over the past year, under the title “Design & Construction.”

The Editorial Board will continue to develop Design & Construction to enhance its value for fib members. We hope this initiative will further strengthen the bridge between research and practice and contribute to fib’s mission.
