Summary: While in most States displacement has been mainly by dams, industries, mines, and projects that are linked directly to development understood as infrastructure-building, in Mizoram more than 50 percent of the displaced persons belong to "village regrouping' which was the reaction of the security forces to the nationalist struggle that the Mizo perceived as intrinsic to their identity search. The study on development-induced displacement in Mizoram 1947-2010 attempts to look at development and displacement from the point of view of the same search. Is there a contradiction between their identity search and development? The State seems to have invested much in the social field. Has there been adequate investment in economic growth? What is its implication for their identity search? These are some of the questions asked in the study. https://www.amazon.in/Identity-Search-Security-Development-Induced-Displacement/dp/8195302408/ref=sr_1_1?crid=M51XEYCTDVCN&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.HIH1CcyP5J5Cn1iEw-oA_g.g-ot6gT8ZnhA0zhosUqNPZm54SFm76rfzBJ7hSmZzFQ&dib_tag=se&keywords=Identity+search+and+security%3A+development-induced+displacement+in+Mizoram+1947-2010&nsdOptOutParam=true&qid=1719579090&s=books&sprefix=growing+up+in+a+conflict+zone+children+surviving+conflict+in+manipur%2Cstripbooks%2C1304&sr=1-1
